|What to see & do :||Whangarei is a well kept secret! We are lucky to be central to an area of outstanding natural beauty by-passed by many travelers! Endless beaches,a sheltered harbour, awesome mountains, amazing forests, waterfalls and glow worm caves are close by or a short drive away. Go swimming or diving at the world famous Poor Knights Islands, rated by Jaques Cousteau as the best sub-tropical dive spot; or big game fishing from Tutukaka, sky diving, bushwalking, surfing etc. We have art galleries, libraries and museums and a kiwi house. Marvel at the 1000 year old kauri trees in AH REED PARK. The Bay of Islands is but an hours drive away as are the vast beaches of the wild West Coast at Dargaville. Visit Tane Mahuta (Lord of the Forest), the 2500 yr old giant kauri tree in the Waipoua Forest sanctuary. You will be amazed at what the area has to offer. We also operate a local tour service (The Round Trip) for visitors and can arrange to pick you up from Auckland or whangarei airports or your accommodation.|
