Hostal Casa de Lara occupies one of the most valuable and best preserved residences of Trinidad. Lara's mansion consists of two parts built in two stages, although the entire property is a single property. Older and most original part dates back to 1830 and is a typical colonial house with beautiful tiled patio of gray stone and water cistern with its curb. The kitchen with a covered coal stove is one of the few of its kind preserved in the city. The most modern part is a house built in 1930 in the neocolonial style, in a harmonious integration with the original part so that the buildings as a whole bears witness to the evolution of habitat within a century. The courtyards are distinguished by elaborate iron railings around the terraces and vegetation shaped by tropical plants. The original furnishing of the houses completes the ambient with the pieces of heritage value.
The Lara family has lived in the house for six generations. You will be happy to be invited to the home of Don Jose Luisde Lara del Valle who knows all the stories of his hometown and tales of old Cuba already lost in memory. His daughters Marcela and Grace with their families will attend you during your stay.
We offer two rooms with shared bathroom for families or friends and another room with a private bathroom. Our breakfast consist of local and seasonal products and for dinners we serve typical, delicious Cuban food.
