| What to see & do : | The Riad Azure is a perfect starting point for your daily excursions. There's a lot to see within 60-minutes radius. How about Alicante, the second largest city in Valencia region with its castle of Santa Barbara on Mount Banacantil or Explanada de Espana, covered in 6,5 Million marble floor tiles? Or maybe Elche with its UNESCO Heritage site - Palmerar d'Elx - a palm orchard with 200 000 (!) trees, the 12th century Altamira Castle, Arabic Baths or the basilica of Santa Maria? While staying with us, why not visit Cartagena and its ancient Roman ruins, Roman Theatre, Bateria de Castilitos or Barrio de Foro Romano? Or perhaps a day trip to Orihuela at the feet of Sierra de Orihuela, where you can visit its medieval town centre with the town's cathedral built between the 14th and the 16th centuries or see the ruins of the mountain top Arab castle? There's also Torrevieja, situated between two salt lakes which give the city a healthy microclimate. Over there you can also visit the Parque de las Naciones, the Church of the Immaculate Conception or simply relax on one of the city's blue flag beaches. Millions of people visit Costa Blanca each year and enjoy its stunning coast and beaches. They're within a reach from The Riad Azure. Orihuela Costa has 16 kilometres of crystal clear water and blue flag beaches as well as rugged coastline. We have several beaches for you to enjoy. One of the busiest ones is La Zenia Beach ideal for practicing water sports. There's also Dehesa de Campoamor and Playa Flamenca beaches with no obstacles accessing them. Or perhaps Cabo Roig or Cala Ferris beach - a less known oasis with palm trees, small dunes and crystal clear water perfect for snorkelling. Then there's Punta Prima - a narrow cove beach accessed by a ramp and stairs or Mil Palmeras Beach with parking facilities and access for those with special needs. And finally, there's Playa Los Naufragos with life guards and first aid centre, Playa de los Locos and an urban blue flag beach Playa del Cura, very busy in the summer. But it's not only beaches that attract tourists. The Riad Azure is never too far from shopping facilities and golf courses, whether you're a keen player or never held a golf club in your hands. The largest shopping centre located 5,8 kilometres from us is Centro Comercial Zenia Boulevard occupying 160 000 square metres with 150 shops, 5 000 car parking spaces, 90 different species of plants, fitness park, rest zone, bowling, casino and many places to eat and drink. Zenia Boulevard is the largest shopping centre in the province of Alicante. The Riad Azure is surrounded by 7 golf courses. Among them there are Campo de Golf Villamartin, Campo de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela or Vistabella Golf. But the jewel in the crown is Las Colinas Golf and Country Club voted the best golf course in Spain the second year running. And how about tours, sports and leisure activities? It's all at our doorsteps. Hipica Gilillo in San Miguel de Salinas offers horseback rides in the area, where you can discover the beauty of true Spain or take a longer ride to the nearby beaches. La Rufete Multi Adventure Park tempts you with quads, paintball, kayaks, zip-wire, hiking or archery. Casa la Pedrera offers horse riding, kayaking, fishing, quads or archery. You can also take a trip from Torrevieja to Tabarca Island on a glass floor boat and admire the sea life of the Mediterranean or go crazy on go karts in Orihuela Costa. And for those who crave some adrenaline rush, the Mar Azul sailing school in Cabo Roig offers windsufring, jet skiing, wake boarding or banana boats. Or simply sailing, kayaks or pedalos. | We're served by 2 airports: Alicante (60 minutes away) and Murcia San Javier (25 minutes away). We strongly recommend hiring a car (various companies available; please check as some charge various fees). The AP 7 route from Alicante (south) or Murcia San Javier (north) will take you to Orihuela Costa and La Zenia (end of toll road).
