Policies : | Our home and B&B is for all our guests to enjoy. It offers a peaceful place to relax and unwind. The cardinal rule is to do unto others as you would have done unto you. To this end, we would ask all who visit with us to treat our house with respect, and consideration for everyone staying at Blenheim Lodge. There are few LEGAL REQUIREMENTS we are obliged to comply with as a Bed and Breakfast: NO SMOKING within our premises – not even smoking out of a window! We are unable to add additional persons of any age to the maximum number of bed spaces available in our rooms. Guests may not cook in our bedrooms. NO NAKED FLAMES (e.g. candles, lanterns, tea lights, etc.) are allowed on our premises. In line with many local serviced accommodation providers, we ask our guests to respect the following requests: NO HOT OR COOKED TAKEAWAY FOOD TO BE CONSUMED IN OUR B&B. (There are LOTS of places to eat 5 minutes’ walk from our door.) Please remember that many people come to Blenheim Lodge for a peaceful escape. Our house is located in a very quiet spot, where one can literally hear the proverbial pin drop! So please, when you are staying here, particularly if you return late to our B&B, BE THOUGHTFUL of other people in the house too. Our car park and lounge are only for the use of guests who ARE staying with us – not for visiting friends or family. We have limited parking spaces for STAYING guests only. Should you wish to leave your vehicle in our car park after check out, please check with us first. DAMAGES PLEASE look after and leave our accommodation the way you would want to see and experience it when arriving for a break. However, we do understand that sometimes accidents can happen. Please be honest and let us know immediately should you damage or mark anything in your room or in the house so that we can deal with it immediately. (Stains are easier to remove when dealt with quickly.) If the damage cannot be repaired or stains removed by us, we will bring this to your attention and may charge you reparation or replacement costs. |
Area Activities |
What to see & do : | Take a Windermere cruise onboard a ferry or yacht. Cycle hidden lanes and Mountain Bike forest trails. Walk pretty woodland walks, lakeside trails, or climb Lakeland's iconic fells. (We can book you a guide if you wish.) Stroll Windermere's Promenade, visit Bowness Bay and feed the waterfowl there, enjoy captaining your own boat, canoe, kayak, or paddle board Take a bus or drive along what is considered England's most beautiful motorway, the A591. Stop off and enjoy the scenery of lakes and fells around you, where there is also an abundance of trails to hike. Visit the pretty villages that you will pass through. Other activities: walking along treetops; Segway; off-roading; scrambling; riding; orienteering; etc. More sedate activities: painting; photography with an expert; shopping in Lakeland's unique shops; going to the theatre; etc. |
Nearby town(s) : | Windermere; Ambleside; Grasmere; Rydal; Lakeside; Hawkshead; Cartmel; Keswick; Kendal |
Directions |
DRIVING: Take Junction 36 off M6. Follow the A591 until Windermere. Follow the one-way system in Windermere towards Bowness, signposted The Lake. In Bowness, come to the tiny roundabout with the big tree in it. Turn left, left and left again in quick succession. At the last turn, you will be on a hilly road, called Brantfell Road. Drive up almost to the top of the hill until you see a newish white house with a fake turret at the corner. Turn right into the lane by the white house and drive a few yards into our car park. BY TRAIN OR COACH: Your stop should be Windermere Railway Station. Best is to take a cab from there to our house, as often this can be cheaper than taking a bus, particularly if there are two people in your party. If there is only an individual, the difference between the price of a cab and the bus is no more than up to a £1 unless it is a public holiday. Please ask us for the cab number when booking accommodation with us, as we use the cheapest cab provider and the driver will be able to take you straight from the train/coach station to Blenheim Lodge. |
